JamesContinuing on the theme of experiencing the great outdoors in Milwaukee, there’s another spectacular walking trail at Hawthorn Glen Park, located just off State Street in Wauwatosa. The paths of this small oasis lead you through three graceful bluffs and countless Hathorn trees. The trail, which winds its way through a small nature reserve featuring five different habitats, also gives you the chance to see some local wildlife. On my last stroll at dusk, I spotted a turkey running around and a far more relaxed deer resting peacefully in the midst of the trees. There are several benches along the trail where you can rest and enjoy a natural sanctuary, all in the middle of a busy city.
