Dining critic Carol Deptolla has done a write-up on the best new restaurants in Milwaukee that appears in the Journal-Sentinel. Playing risk with where you choose to eat and spend your hard-earned money is always a gamble, so it’s quite helpful to get some pointers. Deptolla’s list of new Cream City restaurants is definitely a good place to start, so check it out, and try them out.
Looking over my list of this year’s best new restaurants, it’s easy to see some common movements in dining.
Sure, there are differences. For one thing, I’ve included some spots that are unlike restaurants from past lists. For the first time, I’ve included a counter-service sandwich shop, on the strength of its creativity and compelling flavors. And how many times previously have I included a butcher shop? Exactly … never.
