On the corner of 59th and Vliet, you’ll find Cafe Perrin. It’s a short walk from home, so I go there rather frequently for breakfast. As the pictures show, it has a cheery AM feel to it. Locals should check it out. It’s one of those rare places where I always enjoy whatever is set before me. Lunch and dinner are served here as well, but I’ll limit my recommendations in this short post to a few of the breakfast items, since I’m more familiar with them.

To start off, the coffee, oh the coffee, is amazing. C.P. supports and serves local Anodyne Coffee. The B.Y.O. omelet is my staple order. The eggs are airy and light, and are served with amazing rosemary-seasoned potatoes. C.P.’s buttermilk pancakes and French toast are also outstanding. The French toast is never soggy, heavy or too rich (all-too-common problems elsewhere). If you’re not very hungry, C.P. also serves excellent muffins, rolls, danishes, croissants, all of which are made in-house daily. So, if you’re in the area, support a small, local business and give Cafe Perrin a try!

“Simple Made Splendid” appears on the shirts of the wait staff and is a true statement of what you’ll find at Cafe Perrin. One of these days, I’ll venture there for lunch and dinner and post a follow-up.
