I came across this fantastic old picture depicting the profession of final vows of a large number of School Sisters of Saint Francis in Milwaukee’s Saint Joseph Chapel. I assume it dates from the 1950s. Each sister has a floral crown and holds a candle. Note as well the monsignors in the sanctuary wearing traditional red choir vestments. You can also see what the sanctuary looked like prior to the renovation, during which the communion rail was removed and the sanctuary was extended into the nave.
