Getting Away With Murder

Since 1973, there have been 1,344,272,600 abortions worldwide. That’s roughly two-hundred times the number of Jews murdered in the Holocaust. And as Milo Yiannopolous points out, Planned Parenthood’s body count in terms of abortions performed in the U.S. is already up to seven million. “Planned Parenthood has amassed a Third Reich-style death count completely legally and while pocketing half a billion dollars a year to do so.” Now consider the fact that our country continues to embrace this atrocity and still believes a life to be worthless if it’s seen as an inconvenience. Don’t want to have a baby because of all that pregnancy avoirdupois, don’t worry! Thanks to our wonderful Supreme Court, you can simlpy kill the child with impunity. Saint John Chrysostom wrote,

 To destroy the fetus ‘is something worse than murder. The one who does this does not take away life that has already been born, but prevents it from being born. Homilies on Romans, c. 391 A.D.

Abortion has become so commonplace that even the former archbishop of Milwaukee admitted to David Gregory on Meet the Press that he rarely talks about it in his homilies. “I look at myself David in my 37 years as a priest, rare would be the times that I’ve preached about those ahh, those issues. [abortion, contraception, etc.]” What could possibly surpass “those issues” in terms of prioritization, your Excellency? Immigration reform? Not quite Saint John Chrysostom, here, but I digress.

In the United States, over 60% of Catholics believe the Church is wrong on the issue of abortion, and over two-thirds practice contraception which, in many instances functions as an abortifacient. Is it any surprise that today, Planned Parenthood, which was founded by the infamous bigot Margaret Sanger, continues to receive over half-a-billion dollars in federal taxpayer money each year?

Fr. John Hardon once brilliantly said,

The reason we have such massive slaughter of the innocents is because we have become a fornicating society, an adulterous society, a masturbating society, a homosexual society, and a contraceptive society. Unchaste people are selfish people. They will not stop at murder if an unborn child would be a burden to their indulgence and sexual pleasure.
