Milwaukee’s Bay View district is a great place to explore. Kinnickinnic cuts through the heart of Bay View and is lined with cool shops, restaurants, churches and cafes. (Tip: You can get one of the best views in the city of the majestic Basilica of Saint Josaphat from this street.) I’ve always thought of Bay View as a bit of a toned down, safer version of Brady Street. More young professionals and a mix of all ages, fewer hipsters.

The perfect place for some ‘light’ reading.

One cafe worth checking out is Sven’s. When so many coffee houses are starting to look indistinguishable from one another, it’s time to hit up Sven’s for a change in scenery. It has a colorful, rustic, family room feel to it. Find a tucked away corner, bring a book, maybe some work to catch up on (or a friend!) and enjoy!

So, as the weather gets colder, and you need a familiar, unpretentious place to hunker down with some hot coffee or cider, Sven’s is the place to be. Check it out!7811
