This past week the new marble altar rail was installed at Saint Stanislaus Parish and Oratory. It was made in Italy, of white Carrara marble. The pillars are green onyx. A small gate will soon be added in the middle to complete the rail. This is a big deal for the church. Sadly, the original altar rail was removed in the ’60s, so it’s great to see another high-quality altar rail replace it. (I wrote about the importance of altar rails here.)

The ongoing restoration at Saint Stanislaus is a bright spot in the Church. As the parish community continues to grow, the building itself is experiencing an amazing renaissance. Next up, the upper walls of the sanctuary, as well as the altar rood depicting the crucifixion, will be painted.

Choir stalls have also been installed in the sanctuary for the praying of the Divine Office.
