The sanctuary of Saint Stanislaus is undergoing its most extensive renovation in generations. After the installation of new, traditional stained-glass windows, the complete restoration of the ad orientem high altar and, just within the past few weeks, the arrival of a marble altar rail from Italy, our focus turns upward. A massive web of scaffolding now fills the western portion of the church, as skilled artists from Conrad and Schmitt Studios Inc. painstakingly restore the beautiful details of the apse. The final picture shows an artist’s rendition of what the sanctuary will look like when the work wraps up in the fall, just in time for the parish’s 150th anniversary.
