These two photos give you a good look at the amazing restoration work that’s been accomplished so far at Saint Stanislaus. The black and white wedding photo is most likely from the ’50s, perhaps earlier. The other is from today after Mass. (I was able to get a perfect shot of the sanctuary.) Plans are underway to replicate the bas-relief above the altar depicting the martyrdom of Saint Stanislaus. Sadly, it was destroyed in the “restoration” of the ’60s. It’s a testament to the Institute of Christ the King that such prioritization is given to the setting for the sacred liturgy.
